The top-seeded collegiate team of Julian Cash and Arjun Kadhe from Oklahoma State University put on an impressive performance, winning three straight matches on Friday at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club to advance to the fourth round of the 127th Annual Pacific Coast Men’s Doubles Championship.

The All-Americans from OSU opened the tournament with an 8-3 win over Caryl Hernandez and Luca Marquard of the University of California, Irvine. Later in the afternoon, Cash and Kadhe defeated Samuel May and Tyler Stayer of Baylor University 8-3 in a second-round match.

In an evening match, Cash and Kadhe continued their strong play as they scored an 8-4 third-round victory over 12th-seeded Alec Adamson and Adam Levie of the University of California, Davis.

Cash and Kadhe, who are ranked No. 15 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, will face 15th-seeded Nolan Paige and David Wilczynski of Stanford University in a fourth-round encounter at 10:30 a.m. (PST) on Saturday.

“It feels really amazing. You can’t get any better than this, the location, the atmosphere. I’m really glad to be part of this tournament as the number one seed,” said Kadhe, an OSU junior who is playing in the event for the third time. “We’re here to play our best tennis and enjoy. All the good teams are here and we’re just going to enjoy the good level of tennis.”

Kadhe said the prestigious doubles tournament is a good opportunity to sharpen his game. “It helps a ton, because these matches are really fun. You play so many teams that you have not played before. The best part is, when you’re done with your match you can go out to the beach and relax. It’s unbelievable. The crowd is really awesome. It’s just perfect.”

Saturday’s schedule, which begins at 9 a.m. (PST), will feature fourth-round and quarterfinal main-draw matches. The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club welcomes tennis spectators to view the tournament with free admission. On-site parking is available for a nominal fee.
