Maria Sharapova may be a worldwide sport, fashion and marketing icon - but that doesn't mean the WTA number two is prepared to reveal every detail of her life on Twitter.

The LA-based Russian has put a firm foot down to starting an account on the popular social networking site used by many of her fellow pros to communicate with fans and the world at large. But that kind of detail is not for the tennis dive, who prefers to keep her "boring" private life. . . private.

"I think it's too much for me. I mean, I'm bored with myself on a daily basis," said the three-time Grand Slam winner. "I think if I'm bored, like eating a bowl of pasta, I don't need to let the world know that I'm at this restaurant eating a bowl of pasta."

Sharapova would certainly attract a crowd were she to ever change her mind will millions of Twitter followers almost assured.

"I feel like it's very - just too much every day to tweet and to write. I write enough texts a day. I can't even imagine what it would be like if I would tweet constantly," said Sharapova. "I'm like, I'm getting arthritis in my thumbs. I already text so much, it's
embarrassing."
