Djokovic Want to Carry National Flag at Olympic Opening Ceremony
Given
the numerous amount of honors bestowed upon Novak Djokovic for his
tennis exploits in the last year, any other Serbian contender for the
post of standard bearer at August’s Olympic Games opening ceremony in
London in just 49 days time would have conceded long ago.
Opportunities and Pressure on Djokovic
Fans
can feel for No. 1 Novak Djokovic, who is looking to become the first
man since Rod Laver in 1969 to win four consecutive majors.
Last
year Federer stopped Djokovic’s 43-match run on clay in the French
semis. But the Serbian has beaten the Swiss in five of their past six
meetings.
Sharapova Showing Her Rehab Was Successful
While
she's glad to be back atop the WTA for the first time in four years
after reaching the French Open final, Maria Sharapova cannot forget the
rehab battle she faced over two seasons due to a shoulder injury.
"It's a
long road back, it's a long process," said the three-time champion at
the majors. "It's a lot of days of frustration and uncertainty not
knowing if you'll ever get there, not knowing how much you want it, not
knowing whether it would be a moment like that for you again."
