It was a wet, wet day in England. No play in London -- and no play in Birmingham. The first round has been postponed until Tuesday.


Bad Gastein
The rain that was so severe in England wasn't quite as bad in Austria, but it still meant that most of the action was in qualifying. Which, as we noted in our Preview, wasn't exactly filled with big names. The top seeds did manage to advance: #1 Dia Evtimova made the main draw by beating Ani Mijacika 3-6 6-3 6-3, while #2 Jana Cepelova beat #7 Leticia Costas-Moreira 6-1 6-2. Then the rain got into the act again. They managed one more qualifying match as Richel Hogenkamp upset #5 Ines Ferrer Suarez 6-7 6-3 7-5.

In the main draw, Mandy Minella was up 6-3 4-3 on Ajla Tomljanovic when they had to end action.
