Fish Skips Olympics With No Regrets
There
will be absolutely no Olympic regrets for recovered American Mardy Fish
as he stays on his side of the Atlantic to play on hardcourts and miss
the London Olympics.
"I was
lucky enough to do well in the Olympics when I played in 2004 and win
the silver medal, so I’ve got a medal and I’ve got the memories from
that," said the 29-year-old who has grappled with an accelerated
heartbeat problem - now solved - over the past half-year.
Petkovic Forced to Withdraw From the Olympics
The
London Olympic dream has died for Andrea Petkovic, with the unlucky
German announcing that she will not be fit enough to play in the tennis
event which begins a week from Saturday. "Really sorry to announce that
I will not be competing at the Olympic Games," she said on her Twitter
feed. "I'm heartbroken and sad as can be but I'm just not ready yet."
