ITF Launches Mobile App for Olympic Tennis Event
The
International Tennis Federation (ITF) today launched a mobile App for
the Olympic Tennis Event taking place at The All England Club, Wimbledon
from July 28 until August 5. The smartphone App forms part of a wider
digital strategy that makes the ITF Olympic Tennis website
www.itftennis.com/olympics the number one destination for tennis
fans during London 2012.
Williams About to Set an American Olympic Record
Venus
Williams is about to become the first tennis player from the United
States to feature in four Olympic Games but despite being 32 years old
and coping with the problems of competing with the effects of the
auto-immune disease Sjogrens Syndrome, the three times gold medalist is
already making plans for a fifth Olympiad four years from now in Rio de
Janeiro.
Bartoli Will be TV Watching the Olympics, Not Playing
French
Olympic exile Marion Bartoli will be watching the London Games with no
small emotion after playing for two weeks on North American hardcourts.
The former Wimbledon finalist finished her run with a quarter-final in
Stanford and a final at the weekend in Carlsbad.
After losing 6-1, 7-5 to Dominika Cibulkova in the La
Costa title match, Bartoli expressed both the frustration and the good
side of missing the Games which start at the weekend on the grass of
Wimbledon.
Cibulkova Celebrates a Win in an Exclusive Way
Dominika
Cibulkova rode a water slide fully-clothed shortly after winning the
second title of her career, a 6-1, 7-5 defeat of top seed Marion Bartoli
to win the WTA Carlsbad tournament. The Slovak champion had no time to
celebrate though, with her flight booked back home in order to fulfill a
sponsor commitment.
