Olympic Medals Generate Interest For Williams
Serena
Williams’ love for jewelry has been well documented over the years but
right now she simply has a lust for gold. Four Olympic medals in that
most precious of medals has not satisfied her desire and now she is
insistent on adding to her collection at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro
Olympics even though she will be close to her 35th birthday
by then.
Raonic Will Be A Major Name In Toronto This Week
With
the absence of some of the usual big names, home hero Milos Raonic is
becoming the focus of this week's Toronto Masters. The No. 24 who snuck
into the 16th seeding through various pullouts from the post-Olympic
field, has been fulfilling a laundry list of PR duties now that he's
actually in his native Toronto for more than a few days.
The Olympic Interlude Is Over For Robson, Now It Is Time To Get Back To
Reality
Laura
Robson must now return to the world of reality. From the excitement of
an Olympic final and the prize of a silver medal from Mixed Doubles, the
18 year-old from Great Britain must now get back to her day job of
improving a WTA singles ranking that currently stands at 89th
position.
Even With A Washington Loss, This Has Been A Good Season For Haas
Tommy
Haas lost a tough match for the Washington title, going down in a
rain-interrupted battle to Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov 6-7 (7-9), 6-4,
6-1. But despite the disappointment, the 34-year-old Haas is optimistic
about his recent tennis performances.
"It's always tough to lose, even when you had a great week, but you just
have to let it sink in and overall, I'm really proud to get here to a
final and play really solid tennis. I just hope I can stay injury-free
and keep going and try to keep it moving."
