Blake Overjoyed To Be Playing At The Open
After
scoring a first round victory at the US Open, 32-year-old James Blake --
who says he’s being chided with good natured old man jokes in the locker
room -- says that he still surprised that he made it as a pro. Blake
once reached No. 4 in the rankings and went up against Andre Agassi in
an epic five set loss in the quarterfinals of the 2005 US Open in
contest that is still replayed during rain breaks.
Djokovic Says American Tennis Is Not Where It Was
Novak
Djokovic has plenty of worries on his mind as he heads into his first
title defense at the US Open - but the perilous state of American tennis
is not one of the topics giving him any sleepless nights.
"USA is a huge country, one of the most influential countries in the
world, and I'm sure that tennis tradition is something that is nurtured
over the years," said Serbian world number two Djokovic. "I'm sure that
the new wave of success in tennis, men's tennis, for United States is
coming," said the man who led Serbia's breakthrough a few seasons ago.

Comcast Wins Stay In FCC Tennis Channel Decision
Just
two weeks before Comcast was going to move Tennis Channel to a more
basic tier that would have made it available in 18 million more homes,
the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit granted
Comcast's request for a stay of the Federal Communications Commission
order mandating distribution of the Tennis Channel on its cable systems
while its appeal is pending.
