Roddick Announces His Retirement At The US Open
Andy
Roddick, former world no.1, the last American man to win the US Open
title and the fulcrum of his nation’s Davis Cup team for much of the
last decade, has announced he is to retire from tennis with immediate
effect once he loses at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in New York.
Federer Heaps Praise On The Career Of Andy Roddick

no.1 Roger Federer led to a succession of compliments for Andy Roddick,
the Swiss nemesis who denied his American rival of glory in the 2006
U.S. Open final and three more times at Wimbledon in 2004, 2005 and
2009.
Federer described Roddick as a "great man" and admitted he had "some
great battles" with the American, notably that 2009 Wimbledon final when
the scoreline read 57, 76, 76, 36, 16.
Tsonga Feels Pressure To Play And Keep Up Ranking
The
ATP rankings requirements force Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to play more events
than he wants, the Frenchman indicated after losing in the second round
of the US Open.
Isner Wants To Play Spain’s Best In Davis Cup
American
John Isner hopes to test himself against the best on clay when the US
plays Spain next month in a David Cup semi-final. But the continuing
uncertainty over the knee fitness of Rafael Nadal may mean that the king
of the surface will not be on court for the tie the week after the end
of the US Open.
"Everyone wants him to be healthy. Honestly, if it was up to me, I
would want him to play," said Isner.
