Li Avoids
Taking Political Questions
At
the age of 30, Li Na appreciates she is now in the veteran stage of her
tennis so the former French Open champion is this week in Tokyo and
turning a blind eye to a worsening diplomatic situation between China
and Japan, admitting: “There's not much time left so I have to work even
harder.”
At press conferences over the weekend Li adamantly
refused to answer any questions on her participation in the $2,168,400
Premier event on the WTA calendar, in which she reached the semi-finals
in 2009.
Hewitt Gets
Shanghai Wildcard
Former
No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt will make his sixth appearance in Shanghai in 13
years after being given a wild card into next October's Masters 1000
event. The 31-year-old Australian last appeared in China's commercial
capital in 2009, beating John Isner before losing to Gael Monfils.

former players are starting to take Andy Murray seriously after the Scot
made his Grand Slam breakthrough with a US Open title to back up his
summer Olympic gold performance. Now, Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean, a

Scot's recent progress.

at all the major and minor tennis tournaments for the wires systems,
daily newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies. He has been to
venues all over the world and has compiled tennis images (archives) of
all the professionals and some juniors. The images have all been
preserved in a temperature-controlled environment and are color
positives (slides), color and black & white negatives and contact
sheets, as well as digital. There are in excess of 400,000 images and
