Leconte Is Concerned About Monfils’ Wellbeing
Just
a year ago French tennis icon Henri Leconte was talking in humorous
terms about the possibilities of coaching his compatriot Gael Monfils
after he finished in the world’s top 20 for the fourth consecutive
season and spent most of 2011 inside the top ten.
Now
Leconte is deadly serious about Monfils, who is ranked a lowly 77th after
missing four months of the 2012 schedule with a knee problem, and
concerned the 26 year-old former junior world no.1 is contemplating
retirement.
Brazil Venue Faces Infrastructure Problems For Events
The
fans in Brazil have come out in great numbers to watch the Federer
Gillette Tour, but apparently on Saturday at Ibirapuera Gymnasium, they
were roasting watching a match between Victoria Azarenka and Serena
Williams.
The
Brazilian press reported that Federer had commented on the excessive
heat in the gym, which does not have an air conditioning system.
Brazilian player Thomaz Bellucci added: "It's a sauna in there, like a
furnace.
Murray Promises To Clean Up His Act
Formerly
foul-mouthed Andy Murray has sworn that he won't curse again on court as
the US Open champion continues his long-term goal of taming a volatile
temper. The Scot may be benefiting from a year under the stoic and
unsmiling influence of uber-coach Ivan Lendl as he tries to solidify a
No.3 position behind Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
