Nadal Wins His First Singles Match As He Returns To The Tour
Rafa
Nadal lost his first service game but rallied in customary fashion as he
made a return to ATP tennis after seven months out with knee problems
which are still not completely healed to his satisfaction. Nadal reached
the quarter-finals in Vina del Mar, Chile, an ATP 250 event which has
never attracted such attention.

Spanish
Davis Cup captain Alex Corretja resigned to the fact that his depleted

Group. Spain went down to the hosts with the visitors missing David
Ferrer, Rafael Nadal, Nicolas Almagro and Fernando Verdasco, all either
injured or fatigued.
Former Doping Official Is Convinced Tennis Is Not Clean

Pound, who formulated the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), serving as
its president until 2007, was always strong in his belief that Lance
Armstrong was a drugs cheat. Now he is equally convinced that tennis has
a deep underlying drug culture that needs to be exposed.

compiling an impressive 38-11 record. But the former top 5 player isn’t
