ITF Denies Pakistan’s Davis Cup Appeal

The ITF’s Davis Cup Committee, at a meeting held on Tuesday, 30 April 2013, denied the appeal by the Pakistan Tennis Federation against the decision of the ITF Referee at the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Asia/Oceania Zone Group II tie between Pakistan and New Zealand in Yangon, Myanmar on 5-7 April. The Referee awarded the tie to New Zealand due to an unplayable grass court.

 

Pakistan Refuses To Accept Defeat; Will Appeal To ITF Board Of Directors 

Pakistan refuses to accept defeat after the International Tennis Federation’s Davis Cup committee today denied any appeal against the decision of Sri Lankan referee Ashita Ajigala to award last month’s Asia/Oceania tie staged in the neutral venue of Myanmar (Burma) to New Zealand after a large hole near the baseline rendered the grass court dangerous and unplayable.

 

Bartoli Starts Slowly At The Beginning Of The Clay Season

Marion Bartoli ìs back on the practice courts after her spring clay debut was marred by a first-round loss to China's Peng Shuai at the Portugal Open. The quirky Frenchwoman, 2007 Wimbledon finalist. went down in three sets but is not yet hitting the panic button.
