Robson And Murray Trying To Reduce Their Salty On-Court Language

Teenager Laura Robson is coming to terms with the pressure of being Britain’s no.1 tennis player in the buildup to Wimbledon after being caught out for using some rather unladylike language by the closeness of sound effect microphones at her matches.

Robson’s compatriot and Olympic mixed doubles silver medal partner Andy Murray is a habitual offender when it comes to swearing at himself during matches with television announcers perpetually being forced to apologize to viewers.

Djokovic Is Very Relaxed Before Wimbledon

If pre-Wimbledon pressure is mounting for world no.1 and former champion Novak Djokovic then he has a unique way of handling it. The Serb looked ultra-relaxed as he played an exhibition warm-up match to the extent he asked the crowd to slow-clap him as he removed his tennis shirt, swinging it above his head and flexing his muscles in the mode of a burlesque dancer.

Radwanska Hoping For A Repeat Of Last Year

Despite losing her opening match at the Eastbourne International for the second year in a row as top seed, Agnieszka Radwanska is hoping that her recent grass court history repeats itself.

After going down on the English south coast in 2012, the Pole went onto reach the final at Wimbledon - her first at a grand slam - eventually losing to Serena Williams.

La Costa To Have A Stellar Field

The Southern California Open, a WTA Premier 700 tennis event, announced its official tournament field, which includes 10 of the Top 20 players in the world. A major stop on the Emirates Airline US Open Series calendar, the women’s professional tennis tournament will be hosted once again at the beautiful La Costa Resort and Spa on July 27-August 4.

USTA Pro Circuits To Offer US Open Wild Cards

The USTA announced that USTA Player Development will award a main draw wild card to one American man and one American woman who earn the most ATP World Tour and WTA tour ranking points in a series of USTA Pro Circuit events this summer. Only players who have not earned direct acceptance into the US Open are eligible for the wild card.
