Murray’s Patience May Pay Off

The time-honoured belief that patience is a virtue isn’t something that’s always been paramount in the mind of Andy Murray. But Wimbledon’s no.2 seed and Britain’s great hope of finally lifting the Men’s Singles trophy showed he was prepared to show endurance and fortitude to hang in the quarterfinal with Fernando Verdasco and finally prevail.

 

Roddick Misses Wimbledon

Less than a year after his sudden retirement from tennis, Andy Roddick is the first to admit that he misses Wimbledon. The 30-year-old suffered his share of heartbreak on the lawns of the All England Club, losing finals in 2003 and 2004 to Roger Federer as well as going out in 2009 to the seven-time champion Swiss.

Murray Is Unimpressed With Prime Minister’s Comments

Andy Murray remained absolutely unimpressed after British Primate Minister David Cameron's office used his successful Wimbledon run into a fifth semi-final in an attempt to score possible political points with the great British public.

"Just back from a successful trip to Kazakhstan to hear the great news about @Andy_Murray," tweeted the PM's spin doctors. Another tweet said: "The sky over Downing St a little grey right now. Let's hope it clears up for @Andy_Murray to win at #Wimbledon. Best of luck Andy."

 

Navratilova Gives Her Opinion On American Men Players

Martina Navratilova is usually a critic that sticks to pointing out the plusses and minuses of women’s tennis but for the first time in 101 years there were no American males in the third round of Wimbledon, she felt the need to move into unknown territory.

The USTA/Midwest Section has an opening for the Digital Media Coordinator position. This is a fulltime position. The Digital Media Coordinator will lead all organizational efforts concerning social media. The position is responsible for all website administration including, but not limited to design, content development, and traffic analysis. This position will collaborate and work closely with other departments and committees to launch efforts that drive awareness of USTA programs and services, while increasing membership and participation.

Position Title: Head Tennis Professional
The Head Tennis Professional would report directly to the Tennis Director/General Manager/Owner.
Requirements:
Candidates should have a passion for tennis and at least 3 years of tennis coaching experience. The ideal candidate for this position will be a minimum 5.0 level player, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with all ages and levels of players and be an organized creative team player as well as maintaining a motivated work ethic.
Position Description: The tennis professional hired for this position will teach private lessons, adult and junior clinics, as well as being responsible for helping run and create tournaments and other social events. They will also be responsible for promoting the tennis program and overall success of the Westside Club.
Certifications:  Required.
Compensation:  Provided upon request post application being received.
