Wimbledon Champ Murray Invited To Tea With The Prime Minister

In the past American Grand Slam tennis champions have been honored at the White House and Russians afforded hero or heroine status at the Kremlin. So it was fitting Wimbledon chairman Andy Murray would be taken to tea at Downing Street as British Prime Minister David Cameron insisted the 26 year-old Scot should be awarded a Knighthood.

 

 

Lendl Declares Murray Is The Best In The World

The world rankings may show otherwise but Ivan Lendl is insistent his charge Andy Murray has proved he’s currently the best player in the world with the Wimbledon title to add to the Olympic gold medal and US Open crown he won last year.

 

 

 

Murray Under Consideration For 2012 Performance Honors

US Open and Olympic champion Andy Murray has been nominated in two categories of the Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award (ESPY for short) to be presented at a special award in Los Angeles on July 17 with Mad Men star Jon Hamm the master of ceremonies.

 

 

Del Potro Believes He’s Back To Elite Form

It seems like Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro has been battling either injury or illness since he won the 2009 US Open. Shortly after that he wrecked his right wrist, which took him out of play for nearly a year. Even when he returned to the tour in late 2010 he was still feeling some pain.

Del Potro says that his doctors have told him that he cannot do any more damage to his knee, which is why he is continuing to play on.

 

Djokovic And Murray Have Been Long-Time Tennis Opponents

Andy Murray kept it strictly business on court as he faced Novak Djokovic for the biggest prize in tennis. While the top-two players in the world - both aged 26 and born within a week of each other in May, 1987 - have grown up in the game alongside each other in many cases, friendship didn't come into the equation when they clash on Centre court.

The USTA/Midwest Section has an opening for the Digital Media Coordinator position. This is a fulltime position. The Digital Media Coordinator will lead all organizational efforts concerning social media. The position is responsible for all website administration including, but not limited to design, content development, and traffic analysis. This position will collaborate and work closely with other departments and committees to launch efforts that drive awareness of USTA programs and services, while increasing membership and participation.

Position Title: Head Tennis Professional
The Head Tennis Professional would report directly to the Tennis Director/General Manager/Owner.
Requirements:
Candidates should have a passion for tennis and at least 3 years of tennis coaching experience. The ideal candidate for this position will be a minimum 5.0 level player, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with all ages and levels of players and be an organized creative team player as well as maintaining a motivated work ethic.
Position Description: The tennis professional hired for this position will teach private lessons, adult and junior clinics, as well as being responsible for helping run and create tournaments and other social events. They will also be responsible for promoting the tennis program and overall success of the Westside Club.
Certifications:  Required.
Compensation:  Provided upon request post application being received.
