Nadal Withdraws From US Open

US Open Tournament Director David Brewer issued the following statement;

Reigning US Open champion Rafael Nadal, of Spain, has withdrawn from this year's US Open men's singles tournament due to a right wrist injury.

 

Djokovic Is Heading For The US Open, But He Is “Not Clicking”

Novak Djokovic is "not clicking" going into the US Open, going out in the third round of Masters events at Cincinnati and Toronto.

"Just many, many, many things are not clicking these two weeks on hard courts. It's unfortunate, but it's more than obvious I'm not playing even close to what I'm supposed to play," said the Serb, who a year ago reached the final of the US Open. "I have to keep on working and trying to get better for US Open."

 

Federer Qualifies For London

Navratilova Worries About Li

Injuries and inability to bounce back from them could determine the competitive fate of China's Li Na.

Navratilova told AFP in Singapore that Li's grand slam future is "up in the air."

 

Murray Heads For US Open, But He Is Frustrated

Andy Murray may only be ranked ninth in the world going into the US Open and he has not beaten a top ten player since winning the Wimbledon title nearly 14 months ago. However the bookmakers have not lost faith in the 2012 champion in New York and he goes into what he has always insisted is his most enjoyable Grand Slam equal second favorite.

Tennis Channel Plus digital subscription service is going to introduce a program called “Grand Slam Rewind” today, which will let people watch the finals of the three other majors as they get ready for the US Open.  All matches are available on-demand from Monday through the end of the US Open.
