Ulrikke Eikeri, 22, of Norway defeated hard-hitting Sherazad Reix of France 2-6 6-4 7-6 (7) in the quarterfinals of the seventh annual Rock Hill Rocks Open.
Other quarterfinalists who advanced on Friday in singles play were top seed Romina Oprandi of Switzerland, sixth seed Jennifer Brady of the U.S., and Andrea Gamiz of Venezuela. Oprandi won the $25,000 tournament in 2011.
Play continues at 11 am Saturday at the Rock Hill Tennis Center with one of the two singles semifinals matches, followed by the other. The doubles finals match will begin 11 am Sunday, followed by the singles finals match.
