The Generali name is to be attached to yet another tennis event as the company becomes the title sponsor of the national championships of Switzerland.

The tournament will be renamed the Generali Champion Trophy.

The insurance company with long-term ties to tennis, Generali has been involved with the tournament since 2008. It is in addition associated with two Austrian tour events, the ATP event in Kitzbhuel and the WTA event in Linz.

The new commitment will see it take a leading role in promoting amateur tennis in Switzerland with the national federation.

“We are proud to further expand our collaboration,” said Alfred Leu, chief executive of the company’s division in Switzerland. “In our business, long-term partnerships are a sign of confidence. This is one of our key success factors.”

As part of the agreement, those signing up for leagues and federation membership will receive reduced rates and incentives.

However, the title sponsorship will not yet be in effect for the next edition of the tournament.
