Sloane Stephens (USA) has withdrawn from the Hobart International 2016 due to a viral illness.

The draw has been updated to reflect Stephens’ withdrawal, with the highest unseeded player Mona Barthel (GER) becoming the ninth seed and taking the vacant top seed position. An additional lucky loser/qualifier spot has been added to Barthel’s original position in the draw.
