The USTA announced The Landings Club in Savannah will host the 8th annual St. Joseph’s/Candler Savannah Challenger, April 18-24 at the Club’s Franklin Creek Tennis Center. The tournament, a USTA Pro Circuit event, is one of the largest tennis events in Georgia and attracts many players preparing to play on clay at the French Open.

The field for the $50,000 Challenger will feature 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. Players ranked as high as No. 50 in the world typically compete in Challenger-level events. The qualifying tournament beginning April 16 will determine the final four singles players in the field.

In 2015, St. Joseph’s/Candler (SJ/C) and The Landings Club, two Savannah-based organizations, partnered together as SJ/C proudly took the helm as the title sponsor of the Savannah Challenger ATP Tennis Tournament. SJ/C was also named as a healthcare partner of The Landings Club as part of the three-year agreement.
